Honda came into the Indian motorcycle market with Honda Unicorn gifted with well-built engine, rugged looks and superb performance. Unicorn offers superior mileage and pick up and has all the features and facilities one could wish for. Unicorn was the first bike in India with mono suspension feature. Now, Honda India has moved ahead with the launch of Honda CB Unicorn. Features of Honda CB Unicorn include a puncture resistant Tuff-up tube, storage space under the seat and sturdy lights for better visibility. This bike has powerful 4 stroke 150 cc engine clubbed with many other high end equipments like Constant Volume (CV) Carburetor, pulse exhaust system, offset crank and 2 way air jacket. Unique shock absorbing mono suspension prevents discomfort due to the sudden jerk caused by uneven road. Its flexible seating arrangement, ample foot space give the total comfort of journey..

Honda Unicorn is available in single variant only. Honda Unicorn which is powered by 149.1cc 4-stroke, air-cooled petrol engine with five speed manual transmission gearbox and offers mileage of approx 59 KMPL.

Power

Honda Unicorn comes loaded with a 150cc powertrain which is configured with 4 stroke, air cooled, single cylinder, OHC. This fine engine good enough to churn out a top power of 14bhp at 8500 rpm and pumps out a peak torque of 12.8 Nm at 6500 rpm. In order to make sure maximum power uses, it is incorporated with 5 speed manual gearbox.

Appearance

Over all, the Unicorn is a Latest-looking motorcycle. The Unicorn cast its Unicorn with its delightful, bold structure comes with very stylish and rare stripes. Its multi mapping CDI, roller rocker arm, 5 speed gears, tumble free combustion etc. determine the performance as well as its aesthetic value. Its aerodynamic body lining, sporty and sleek design, appealing tail lamp and excellent body graphics etc are enhancing its style statement day by day. Front fairing, fresh bodywork runs the length of the bike. Ergonomically-designed levers and palm grips are fine apparatus and the Unicorn shares electrical switches with the Super Splendor. Each and every portion of the female is balanced as its tale is made in the right proportion. It has got appealing front view that is comprised of tapraozied headlamp cluster and large black tinted wind screen. The bike has hexagon shape clear front and rear blinkers. The front fender keeps body color and front suspension attached to it. Trendy mirrors have a good match to the body shade and the decals which, though a tad jazzy for the sober among us, will surely appeal to those with a flashy bent of mind. The tail lamps are perfectly carved with balance as well. The side and rear panels blend well with little slits adding visual relief, while racy chequered decals provide a flamboyant touch to the Honda Unicorn.

Engine Capacity and Performance

The engineers of the company do intensive research to develop the machinery of the bikes. This is also reflected in the Honda Unicorn. The machine comes loaded with air cooled OHC, four stroke, single cylinder engine with a displacement of 149cc. The rigid mill belts out 13.3bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and generates 12.8 Nm of maximum torque at 5500 rpm. A two-way air-jacket is loaded for better air cooling of the power mill which cools the engine.

Wheels

sports alloy wheels and wide tyres that give the bike required sporty looks. The tyre specification is front tyre (2.75X18) and rear (100/90-18). The rear tyre has less rubber added. The bike comes with stylish six spoke alloy wheels. Tuff-up tube is fitted in the rear tyre only which instills confidence in you as it reduces chances of puncture remarkably.

Braking and Handling

Honda Unicorn is loaded with latest brakes to provide effective braking when required. Honda Unicorn sports front 240mm disc brakes non-asbestos type while the rear brake is internal expanding shoe type 220mm non-asbestos type as well. It is to be informed that a lot of braking is done on the front brake thereby the company added disc brake at front only.

Handling and Safety

Honda Auto uses advanced technology to make Honda Unicorn very comfortable bike to offer an easier handling and control. The Honda Unicorn possesses latest technology features like the other important features include, Tubular double cradle type body frame, Trendy Visor, macho, Elegant Tri-pod head panel, Black alloy wheels, Black painted engine chain and case, Body coloured rear grip. In view to ensure ultimate handling and control, the Honda Unicorn boasts front disc brake, mono suspension and larger wheelbase. The large wheelbase and big sized tyres of Honda Unicorn give greater stability and control on road.
